Deciding not to be shackled by continuity, by the prequels. To cherry pick what you want out of it. This is why I'm not immediately turned off by the rumors that the Kuzui's want to remake Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the film, without Whedon. You know, I've said this before about Buffy. I want her to enter the pantheon of the Hammer films. I want, in 50 years, "Buffy" to be included with "Frankenstein" & "Dracula." I want people to just know it, in their gut.

i think coraline is gaiman's best work outside of sandman & i am very excited to see this flick. plus, the nightmare before christmas guy! the trailer doesn't make it seem very scary, despite the fact that, well, it is. it is a children's book in the tradition of spooky children's stories, a genre that has sort of been tossed to the wayside. stupidly tossed to the wayside. in the wake of yesterdady's rumors about how where the wild things are (by jonze) is going to be re-shot to be neutered & made more "kid-friendly," it was nice to get some coraline goodness this morning. anyhow, time for me to throw some punches at taking a shower.

our computer broke, that is the bad news. the good news is that elephants are afraid of mice. seriously, this clip leaves some of it off, but they tried it without the mouse & with just the moving dung, & the elephants didn't care about that at all; then they tried it again just to be sure? & the elephants were scared again! crazy. anyhow, i'm at work, but not getting paid, so that i can at least work on my novel a little. spent the morning otherwise watching californication, which is actually kind of charming, almost solely thanks to david duchovney. if you like that, i recommend playing god, in which he's almost the same character. anyhow, on to the mice.

it is really weird how effective the simple trick of this clip is; the mask on the crown of the head & walking on all fours. that sort of lo-fi special effects really appeal to me, especially since i can just steal it & use it in my game. oh, yeah, i am the dungeon master who doesn't mind acting like a creep-out here & there: pop that mask on & crawl into the room to put a chill in the spine? you'll be seeing it, my lovelies. it does make me wish i had my scaramouch mask here in babylon with me; it is stuck back in the wastelands. i ought to look into getting my grubby little hands on it. in terms of film, whatever, i like the shaky-cam shooting: i liked blair witch & i'm looking forward to cloverfield. we talked about it all day; is it cthulhu? maybe. i'd certainly be excited if it was. is it voltron? no, but if a robolion ran out i'd freak. is it godzilla? naw. yeah, i'm hoping it is cthulhu, but i'm guessing it is the bloop. no reason it can't be both at the same time, though.

i'm not sure you understand. i need twin peaks. i'm not bluffing, or joking, when i say that i will bawl my beautiful brown eyes out this christmas if i don't find this under the christmas tree, or yule log, or inside of the christmas goose, or some-fucking-where. everybody i know should talk amongst themselves to figure out who is going to get it for me, because if everyone figures someone else is going to, & no one does? i am not kidding. tears. of blood. like an icon of a saint, tears of actual blood. i don't know the scientific name for it (sweating blood is hematidrosis) but you will see it happen with your science. oh man i am going to go dance & practice talking backwards for a while, now.

i hope everyone is caught up on operation: chrysler building. a pretty clear agenda: when the apocalypse comes, in whatever particular form (zombies, nuclear, flying piranhas) we make a beeline for the chrysler building & take it over. what better castle to start the post-apocalyptic imperium from, after all? well, the new update is that the code words for "don't immediately kill me!" are going to based on, from what i understand, world war two (wwii) movies. knocking, then "flash" to which you reply "thunder." there you go, tribe; you've been briefed. now, back to the entertainment, flashmonkeys! you thunderheads!

i am getting much more comfortable doing these, which makes me think i'm getting better, which in enheartening. even if that isn't a proper word. it is kind of annoying how i'm shackled with a primate's autonomic system, getting all flustered & nervous when a camera is present. not to an embarrassing degree or anything, just the usual stage syndrome, which is what makes the whole thing fun, but still. where is my flat affect! i need it always. like a blanky. this guest is one of the jason's, from friday the 13th: part 2. at first i wasn't on his team, but he transformed under the gaze of the camera, & i like the ooze of charisma when it works like that. this was probably the most fun shoot, & then afterwords simon, monica, ashley & myself retired for a slew of korean dumplings.

report: the trains are fucked today; i ended up being only twenty minutes (:20) late. i guess this is the, what do you say, biblical flooding that brings ruin to enoch's city? anyhow, the service alert is just a mess of "pretty much all the trains are fucked." so that is today, so far. that, & i brought a thermos of stimulants to work, because i am the soul of thrift. yesterday was this: fussy jenny, till she fell asleep in my arms. then i untangled myself, went to the gym, & that was that. see what a total excitement roller coaster i'm on? so instead, i'll post some funny videos. web 2.0 (two point oh) mother fuckers!
